    Engine 16

    Engine 16 is a 2007 Kenworth, manufactured by Southern Fire, built to meet NFPA Standard 1901 at the time of purchase. It is equipped with a 1,250 GPM pump and a 1,000-gallon poly water tank with foam capability. The apparatus carries 24 feet of 5-inch suction hose, 24 feet of 2½-inch suction hose, and a 1,200-foot 2½-inch hose lay.

    Engine 16 is designed for versatile emergency response and features scene lighting for enhanced visibility and a 30-foot, 3-section aluminum ladder. Additionally, the truck includes one deck gun for master stream support and a full complement of portable hand tools, including axes, Halligan bars, a 4-foot and 10-foot pike pole, chainsaw, brush fire rake, portable pumps, a K-tool for forcible entry, a gas meter, and a voltage meter.

    For firefighter safety and air supply, Engine 16 is outfitted with four 4.5 SCOTT SCBA units (4500 psi back frame assemblies) and eight SCOTT SCBA carbon fiber cylinders (4500 psi).

    Engine 20

    Engine 20 is a 2003 Ferrara Intruder II HME/Custom Cab fire engine, built to meet NFPA 1901 standards at the time of construction. As a first-run apparatus, it is designed to seat 8 personnel, including 5 SCBA-equipped seats, ensuring that the crew is fully prepared for any emergency. Powered by a Cummins 330 HP diesel engine, paired with an Allison automatic transmission, Engine 20 delivers dependable performance across a variety of firefighting and rescue operations.

    Equipped with a 1,250 GPM top-mount pump, a 1,000-gallon polypropylene water tank, and a 30-gallon foam cell, Engine 20 provides exceptional capacity and effectiveness during firefighting efforts. Additionally, the truck is outfitted with a 200 CFM, 150 PSI Waterous Eclipse CAFS system, further boosting its firefighting power. This versatile and reliable apparatus plays a critical role in the department’s fleet, ready to respond as the first line of defense in both firefighting and medical response operations.

    Brush 17

    Brush 17 is one of Hianloland’s newest apparatus, custom-designed by the company’s members to address specific firefighting needs. It is built on a 2003 LMTV 4x4 chassis with a CAT 3126 turbocharged diesel engine and a 20,000-pound self-recovery hydraulic winch. The truck accommodates three passengers and offers a 22" ground clearance, allowing it to navigate through rugged terrain with ease. It is also equipped with 360-degree LED and emergency lighting to ensure maximum visibility in all conditions.

    Outfitted with a CET fire pump powered by a Honda V-twin 4-stroke engine, Brush 17 carries 670 gallons of water and a 20-gallon foam cell. The truck is versatile in its firefighting capabilities, featuring two 1-inch discharge lines and one 2½-inch discharge line.

    Brush 17 is well-equipped for wildland firefighting, carrying essential tools such as chainsaws, two 250-foot 1-inch rubber hose reels, 200 feet of 3-inch supply line, and 1,500 feet of forestry hose. The apparatus also includes McLeod rakes, Council rakes, spade shovels, and square shovels, all of which are crucial for forestry firefighting needs in the Town and surrounding communities.

    Squad 19

    Squad 19 is a versatile 4x4 mini pumper designed as an all-in-one unit for Hianloland, capable of handling motor vehicle accidents, structural fire support, EMS, and wildland firefighting. Powered by a 7.3L Power Stroke diesel engine with a durable stainless-steel body, it features a 500 GPM Hale SP200DV-O diesel pump, a 250-gallon UPF poly water tank, and a 20-gallon foam cell.

    The hose bed includes three pre-connected 1½” NST lines, along with two rear pump panel discharges fitted with 2½” NST connections. An onboard Akron Model 3096 foam system enhances firefighting efficiency.

    Additionally, Squad 19 is equipped with one of the state’s only horse harness rescue systems, providing a critical resource for large animal rescues and mutual aid throughout the state and surrounding communities.

    Tanker 18

    Tanker 18 is a 2007 Kenworth, manufactured by Southern Fire, featuring a 1,250 GPM pump and a 2,000-gallon poly water tank, along with a 2,000-gallon folding tank. It carries 24 feet of 5-inch suction hose and 24 feet of 2½-inch suction hose.

    The truck is equipped for forestry response, carrying three forestry bags, 900 feet of forestry hose, and forestry Y-connectors and nozzles. It is also foam-equipped and includes a portable water pump and a portable suction pump.

    In addition to its firefighting capabilities, Tanker 18 is stocked with essential tools including axes, brush rakes, Halligan bars, and brush helmets, ensuring readiness for a range of emergency situations.

    For communication, Tanker 18 is equipped with an intercity radio and a State of Rhode Island 800MHz radio. As part of the Tanker Task Force, it is always ready to respond when called upon.

    Tanker 19

    Tanker 19 is a 2000 International pumper, built by KME, featuring a 1,000 GPM pump and a 3,000-gallon poly water tank. It is equipped with a 3,000-gallon folding tank, 24 feet of 5-inch suction hose, and 24 feet of 2½-inch suction hose. Designed for forestry response, it carries three forestry bags, 900 feet of forestry hose, Y-connectors, and nozzles. The unit is foam-equipped and includes both a portable water pump and a portable suction pump. For communications, it is fitted with an intercity radio and a State of Rhode Island 800MHz radio. Tanker 19 also serves as a Tanker Task Force responder.

    Utility 19

    Utility 19 is a 2011 Polaris Ranger 800 Crew, featuring selectable 4x2 and 4x4 options, and seating for 6. This all-terrain vehicle (ATV) serves the Hianloland Fire Department during brush fires, search and rescue operations, and special medical standby calls. Its versatility, especially with the 4x4 capability, makes it an ideal tool for navigating rugged terrain. Utility 19 is equipped with the ability to safely secure a basket stretcher, allowing for effective medical support and patient extrication in remote areas.
